Service Control Techniques

Research and Design in service control, although previously heavily focused on Quality of Service is broadening its focus into other priorities. This reaction comes from the the challenges faced in the broadband community . A clear focus on new services, lowering cost of operations, increasing safety and increasing customer service are the new main priority of service control. In this paper we attempt to show different ways to achieve those goals. Then we will show how the market has utilized different techniques for classification to achieve its current needs. Then we will show why these current classification techniques fail with future needs. Finally we will suggest technologies which mitigate those upcoming problems while providing new more intelligent services and sources of revenue.
